Puri: A fire broke out at the Odisha Gramya Bank’s Ghoradia branch in Delang area of Puri district on Sunday.
No one was injured in the fire that erupted this afternoon. While the bank was closed as it was Sunday, several important documents were stated to have been destroyed in the blaze, sources said.
On being informed, fire service personnel as well as a police team from the Delang immediately rushed to the spot. The firefighters extinguished the fire and prevented the blaze from spreading.
While the exact reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, an electric short circuit was suspected to have triggered the blaze.
Apart from important documents, several equipment and furniture were also damaged in the incident.
