Puri: A fire broke at a petrol pump near Rupudeipur Chhak in Satasankha of Odisha’s Puri district on Sunday.
No injury to anyone was reported in the incident. However, important documents and materials were stated to have been reduced to ashes.
According to sources, the petrol pump staff noticed the smoke and immediately informed the fire services personnel.
The fire brigade rushed to the spot to douse the blaze on being alerted. A possible disaster was averted as the firefighters doused the flame in time and prevented it from spreading.
Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, it was suspected to have been triggered by an electric short circuit.
