Bhubaneswar: The Fire Brigade personnel, who were afflicted by COVID-19 and recovered after undergoing treatment, will donate their plasma voluntarily.
In a tweet, Director General of Fire Services said 10 of the personnel who have recovered from COVID-19 will donate the plasma for the treatment of other serious patients at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated a plasma bank at SCB Medical College through video-conference on July 15. This therapy is expected to be an effective tool in the fight against the global pandemic COVID-19, he said and appealed to those who had got cured of the disease to donate their plasma which will go a long way in helping in the treatment of serious patients.
