Dhenkanal: In a freak mishap on Tuesday, a forester fell unconscious after being hit by a tranquiliser dart in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The injured forest personnel Deepak Sahu came in the way of a tranquiliser dart which was aimed at a wild bear, sources said.
The incident was reported from Kerajoli village in Kamakhya Nagar East range of Dhenkanal forest division.
Sahoo was rushed to Kamakhyanagar hospital and later shifted to Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital (DHH) after his condition worsened.
The injured personnel is posted at Birasal forest section in the district.
According to sources, a rapid response team from Kapilash range was pressed into service for tranquilising the wild bear in Kerajoli village.
Antidotes have been administered to Sahu and his condition has improved, said forest officials quoting the doctors at the Dhenkanal DHH.
