Bhubaneswar: Former BJD MLA Pranab Balabantray on Saturday denied land grab allegations levelled by a local Jajpur resident.
According to Pranab, the land in question is in his mother’s name and another plaot is registered in the name of a charitable organisation.
“The allegations against me are motivated for political rivalry,” said Pranab, addressing a press conference here.
The authorities concerned have reportedly initiated steps to verify the allegation and ascertain whether he has grabbed any government land.
Officials of the Revenue department started the preliminary measurement of the land on Thursday for the demarcation of the government land as part of the verification process.
