Hyderabad: Former Team India cricketer Ambati Rayudu on Thursday joined YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in the presence of Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, deputy CM Narayana Swamy and MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy.
It was quite on the cards after Rayudu retired from all formats of the game post IPL 2023.
Rayudu had met the chief minister and also expressed his intentions of working for the people during his visits to his hometown Guntur.
The 38-year-old Rayudu played 55 ODIs for India, scoring 1,694 runs at an average of 47 with 3 centuries and 10 fifties.
A prominent IPL performer for Chennai Super Kings, Rayudu also played 6 T20 Internationals, but couldn’t break into the Indian Test side.
