Puri: Two days after a married woman was allegedly raped by four men in Nimapara of the district, police arrested all the accused on Sunday.
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s husband at Nimapara police station, his wife had gone to nearby the banks of Kusabhadra river to relieve herself on Friday night when four persons caught hold of her.
The accused gagged her with a towel and raped her. The woman managed to free herself after they committed the crime and cried for help. As her husband reached the spot on hearing her cries, the accused fled. The woman identified one of the accused before police.
On the basis of the complaint and identification of the accused, police launched a manhunt and nabbed him. After he revealed the details about others involved in the crime, police arrested the rest three accused.
The police said all the accused belong to Kakatpur area and work in shops of Nimapara market. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is on.
