Angul: Police rescued over 100 cattle from four container trucks near Banarpal in Odisha’s Angul district early on Wednesday.
Reports said some residents informed Angul police about illegal transportation of cattle from Athmallik to Kolkata in four containers. Acting on the information, a special team of Angul police intercepted the trucks near Banarpal and rescued over 100 cattle.
Preliminary investigations say the cattle were being transported to Bhadrak and Kolkata.
Police have detained the truck drivers and started investigations.
