Four Members Of Inter-State ATM Looter Gang Arrested In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police on Sunday busted a gang of inter-state ATM looters and arrested four of its members in capital city.

According to sources, the gang members were arrested after they were found moving suspiciously near an ATM kiosk on Tankapani Road. Police kept a watch on their movement and nabbed them while they were trying to tamper the cash dispenser of the machine in the ATM.

Following the arrest, police have seized Rs 1.5 lakh, 33 ATM cards and a car from their possession.

The arrested persons, who were allegedly involved in 30 cases of ATM loot in Baripada, Puri and Bhubaneswar, were identified as Niraj Sahu (23) and Yogendra Singh (23) from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Salimkj Khan (32) and Mukesh Pal (31) from West Bengal.

On their modus operandi, police said they used to manipulate machine from sending command to dispense the cash even after it was withdrawn. Later, they filed complaint with customer care service of the bank concerned and got the amount thus making a neat 100% extra money.
