Paradip: Four members of a family were charred to death after a major fire broke out in their house at Banapata village under Kujanga police limits in Jagatsinghpur district late on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Nabaghana Sahu, his wife Kamala Sahu, their daughter Rubina and the couple’s son-in-law Harekrushna Mallick.
Rubina was rescued by neighbours and rushed to Kujanga hospital. While undergoing treatment, she alleged that her husband had set the house on fire to eliminate all of them and was burnt to death while attempting to flee.
However, she succumbed to her injuries while being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Locals also suspect involvement of Harekrushna in the incident over a family feud.
