Four Of Family Critical In Brutal Attack In Odisha Village

Balasore: At least four members of a family were critically injured after a unidentified miscreants barged into their house and brutally attacked them with sharp edged weapons at Naichanpur village under Khantapada area of Odisha’s Balasore district. Two minors are among the injured.

Sources said as many as 10 people stormed into the house of one Ramesh Mallick while he along with his wife Saraswati Mallick and their two minor sons were asleep late on Thursday night. The miscreants wielding weapons attacked them. Past enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the attack.

Hearing the chaos, local residents came to their rescue and rushed all the injured to Khantapada community health centre. As their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Balasore from where they were sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Following a complaint, police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. However, no one has been arrested so far.
