Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around November 9, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre tweeted on Friday.
The met office had earlier forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Nabarangpur till 8.30 am on November 7.
However, the IMD mid-day bulletin on Friday said that dry weather will prevail in Odisha till November 9. “Shallow to moderate fog occurred at one or two places Nayagarh and Kalahandi districts this morning,” it said.
Though there will be no large change in the night temperature) during the next 2 days, the mercury will gradually fall by 2 to 3 degree Celsius thereafter, it added.
Notably, heavy rain had pounded Odisha after as a low-pressure area formed over Gangetic West Bengal on October 18.
The state had also experienced rain on October 16-17 when a low-pressure area was formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood under the influence of a cyclonic circulation on October 14.
