Bhubaneswar: Singer and songwriter from Odisha’s Bhubaneswar Smrutika Padhy aka Smrutika recently released her first single ‘Lemon Sugar Honey’.
The single, produced by Studio IO, showcases Smrutika’s extraordinary emotive delivery. This song offers a musical narrative that transports the listeners to the days of innocence, excitement, and vulnerability that often describe teenage love.
Smrutika also debuted as a singer in Ollywood this year with the song Mahuri from the movie ‘Love in London’. However, she is not a new face in the music world and has carved a niche for herself with gigs happening in and around the city.
Speaking to Odisha Bytes, Smrutika shared how she accidentally ended up singing. “I was always more interested in dance even though my mother is a singer, but one day I snuck into a western vocal audition at school to avoid getting caught with an incomplete homework by my teacher. That is how my journey in music began.”
She also expressed her willingness to make songs in Odia. “I enjoy creating English songs to express myself, but I’d also like to sing more in Odia,” she said.
In a remarkable display of musical prowess, Smrutika has been captivating the hearts of youth with her enchanting voice. With a knack of crafting relatable lyrics and undeniable stage presence she is emerging as a true sensation among the young audience.
