Puri: To mark the Gandhi Jayanti on Saturday, a young artist of Puri town has created a statue of Mahatma Gandhi with paper.
Artsit Suryakant Das, a resident of Dutta Tota in Jagannath Lane, has created the statue of Gandhi in sitting position by using two bundles of old newspapers.
“It took me seven hours to complete the art piece. I have used all-purpose flour, colour and glue to make the statue which has a height of 27 inch and width of 17 inch,” said Suryakant.
“I want to spread the messages of our Father of Nation through my work. People should use khadi products and follow a simple lifestyle. We should keep our environment clean,” he added.
