Bhubaneswar: With the arrest of three men, police on Monday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers active in Bhubaneswar and involved in burglaries and other crimes in the city.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prateek Singh said that the gang members have been operating in different areas of the city, mostly places under the jurisdiction of Capital and Nayapalli Police Stations.
The arrested accused persons were identifies as Suresh Nayak alias Papu (35), Kanha Pradhan alias Pinku (20) and Dillip Bisoye alias Dilu (30).
Several articles including three two-wheeler vehicles, a laptop, 40 grams of gold, 80 grams of silver, 2 televisions, mobile phones, some electronic gadgets, gas cutter and other items have been seized from the accused persons.
The gang has been targeting locked houses when the occupants are away. The robbers enter the house after breaking the window and cutting the iron railings.
The involvement of the gang in two incidents of robbery has so far been established and investigation is in progress, the DCP added.
