Gangster Tito Taken On Three-Day Remand By Jagatpur Police

Salepur: Gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito was taken on a three-day remand on Saturday in connection with one Taher Ali firing case.

The remand has been granted by Salepur JMFC court.The court has asked the police to produce Tito before it again on August 27.

During the remand period, the gangster will be interrogated for his alleged links in the case.

On Friday, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch had interrogated two engineers for their alleged links with Tito.

According to sources, rural development department executive engineer Nalinikant Senapati and lift irrigation department executive engineer Bidyabhusan Nayak were questioned at Kendrapara SDPO’s office for their financial links with the gangster.

The STF had on Thursday unearthed gangster’s involvement in illegal cattle transportation by arresting one of his associates in this connection.

The accused identified as Batu Pani, operating the gangster’s cattle transportation network in Odisha and outside, was nabbed by a team of STF from Kalinga Vihar here.

A pistol and four vehicles, including a costly motorcycle, were seized from his possession.

The STF on Wednesday night had picked up an associate of Tito, identified as Saroj Pati from Kendrapara district, for interrogation in connection with his links with the gangster, his criminal activities and other affairs.

On August 11, another associate of Tito was nabbed from Krishnanandapur village under Tirtol police limits in Jagatsinghpur district.

The accused was identified as Shaikh Shakir Ali.
