Bhubaneswar: A CNG gas leak was reported from a tanker on Khandagiri flyover along NH 16 in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night, creating panic in the area.
According to sources, the gas leak from the tanker, en route to Berhampur from Baramunda, was detected around 10.30 pm after its safety valve got opened.
Police and Fire Brigade personnel soon reached the spot and closed the flyover for vehicular traffic to avoid any mishap. “Water was sprayed on the tanker and it took us 45 minutes to nullify the leak,” said a fire personnel.
A team from the GAIL (India) Limited also reached the spot and took the necessary steps to check the gas leak.
