New Delhi: Former Team India opener and BJP parliamentarian Gautam Gambhir has allegedly received a second death threat from ‘ISIS Kashmir’.
Security outside his residence in the capital’s Rajendra Nagar area had been enhanced earlier in the day after he received the first threat from the terrorist group on Tuesday night.
News agency ANI reported, quoting Delhi police, that the second death threat was mailed to Gambhir with an attached video of footage from outside his residence.
Ganmbhir wrote to DCP (Central) Shweta Chauhan that he received a threat mail which stated, “We’re going to kill you and your family.” He urged police to register a First Information Report on the matter and provide him enhanced security.
Speaking to news agency PTI, deputy commissioner of police (central) Shweta Chauhan said a complaint was rec eived from Gaurav Arora, personal secretary to Gambhir, at Rajendra Nagar police station.
“The complaint alleged that an unidentified person had sent an email on Tuesday on the email ID of Gautam Gambhir threatening to kill him and his family members. On receiving the complaint, the district police increased his (Gambhir’s) personal security as well as security of his residence,” the DCP told PTI about the complaint received from Gambhir’s personal secretary Gaurav Arora.
Delhi police is investigating the matter and trying to find out the source of the threat mail.
