Binjharpur: Body of a girl, who had been missing for the last three days, was recovered from a drain at Binjharpur in Jajpur district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Rasmita Sethi, a Plus II Arts student of Baruneswar College and a resident of Bikana village under Binjharpur block in the district.
Basing on a missing complaint lodged by Rasmita’s elder brother Bhikari Sethy, police launched a search operation and recovered the body with the help of some locals.
Though the reason behind the girl’s death is yet to be ascertained, police suspect that she could have been murdered over a love affair or past enmity.
The body has been sent for postmortem.
