Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sleuths have seized foreign-origin gold worth around Rs 3 crore while being smuggled from Kolkata to Hyderabad.
Acting on intelligence regarding movement of smuggled foreign origin gold from Kolkata by bus, the officers of DRI apprehended two persons who were travelling in a Hyderabad-bus on July 6.
Investigation revealed that the smuggled gold, weighing 4 kg valued at Rs 3 core, was concealed in a cloth waistband worn by the two persons. Both were arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act, of 1962, the DRI, Hyderabad, said in a release.
