Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has formed a committee on providing medical education in Odia language in the state.
The 22-member committee is headed by Prof Manash Ranjan Sahoo, vice-chancellor, Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar, according to an order of Health and Family Welfare department, issued on Thursday.
The committee has been mandated to examine the matter and identify the essential course books for MBBS education required to be translated into Odia Language.
It will assess the volume of works to be taken up for the purpose and decided the timeline required for getting the work done. Besides, the committee will draw up budget requirement for undertaking this task.
The committee has been directed to submit its proposal to the Health and Family Welfare department within 15 days for taking further action on the matter.
