Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has granted administrative approval for Odia University in Puri district’s Satyabadi. A total of Rs 60 crore would be spent on the project.
The state higher education department would soon release the funds to Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation Limited (OBCC), which has been tasked to implement the project.
The master plan has already been prepared by the OBCC via a Delhi-based agency. Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya set up by famous Panchasakha — Pandit Gopabandhu Das, Acharya Harihar Das, Pandit Nilkantha Das, Krupasindhu Mishra and Godavarish Mishra — would be reflected in the project.
“Around 10 acres of land has already been acquired and construction is expected soon. In the first phase, Classrooms for five schools of learning, separate hostels for boys and girls with combined strength of 160 seats, an administrative block, an auditorium, cafeteria and a library will be taken up for construction,” an unnamed official was quoted as saying by The Times of India
.It may be recalled that Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the university’s foundation stone on October 9, 2018, on the birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das.
