Bhubaneswar: The state government has suspended an official after he was found selling school textbooks in Odisha’s Khurda district.
The Block Education Officer (BEO) of Bolgarh on Tuesday suspended the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) of Deuli under the block in the district, Manamohan Mishra. “Manamohan Mishra, Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator of Deuli Cluster is hereby suspended from his CRCC assignment with immediate effect due to public exigency and he is instructed to return back to his parent post,” read the official order issued by the BEO.
The order came after some villagers caught Mishra selling textbooks for Classes I to VIII to a scrap dealer at the cluster office.
The local Ward member, who is the president of the managing committee of Deuli Sat Marg Upper Primary School, where the cluster office is located, along with the villagers detained the CRCC and informed the BEO.
Acting on the complaint of the Ward member and villagers, the BEO suspended Mishra, seized the textbooks and sealed the Cluster office.
