Bhubaneswar: In a daring broad daylight robber, miscreants looted valuables from a government quarters of a police officer situated in front of the official residence of Odisha Chief Minister in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
According to police sources, sub-inspector (SI) Ramakanta Pradhan stays in the government quarters in the high-security zone along with his sons and daughters-in-law.
While the SI is away for training, his sons and daughters-in-law left the quarters for their workplaces at around 11 am. On their return home at 5.30 pm, they found the lock on the main door broken and the entire house in disarray. The steel almirah was also broken open and cash, jewellery and other valuable items were also missing.
After they filed a complaint at Kharvela Nagar police station, a team along with forensic officials went to the spot and started investigation. They have also registered a case in this regard.
