General secretary of the association Prajtna Baral, in a release said though they have held several rounds of meeting with Home secretary and chief secretary on their demand, no step has been taken by the state government so far.

As a mark of protest against the government’s indifference to their demand, around 500 members of the Sangh gheraoed the Home department in the secretariat to draw the attention of chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

Besides raise in the basic salary of the Secretariat cadres, the Sangh has been demanding increase of the salary of ASO to level 10.

Terming the situation as unfortunate, Baral requested the chief minister to look into their demand, failing which the Sangh would resort to ceasework agitation in future.
