Bhubaneswar: Plans have been sketched to celebrate Capital Foundation Day in a grand manner with the participation of Government departments, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, people’s representatives and Capital Day celebration committee members.
Development Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena, on Monday, reviewed the preparations for Capital Foundation Day celebrations on April 13. Secretary, I&PR Department, Bishnupada Sethi informed about the preparations while Director Indramani Tripathy listed the schedule.
The Development Commissioner advised I&PR department, BMC, Odia Language and Culture Department, Khurda Collector and Police Commissioner to take appropriate steps for a successful Capital Day event.
It has been decided that parade practice will be held on April 12. On the scheduled day, a joint parade will be presented before Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro at Vidhan Sabha. The parade will be taken out from Rabindra Mandap to Jaydev Bhavan.
Cultural events have been scheduled at Utkal Mandap in the evening. The events will continue from April 13 to 15, to mark Capital Foundation Day.
Among others, Additional Chief Secretary Madhusudhan Padhi, Works Secretary VV Yadav, Special Secretary (Home) Dr Santosh Bala, Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Singh, Khurda Collector Sangram Keshari Mahapatra, and DCP Dr Uma Shankar Dash were present at the meeting.
