New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Finance on Wednesday announced the release of GST compensation to the tune of Rs 17,000 crore to states and union territories.
Odisha’s share of the Central government’s latest GST compensation package is Rs 286 crore. Karnataka got the maximum compensation of Rs 1602 crore this time.
Last month, the Odisha government had received Rs 1779 crore and Rs 1617 crore in two instalments from the Centre.
According to the Finance ministry’s press release, the total amount of compensation released to states and UTs so far during the year 2021-22 is Rs 60,000 crore.
Back-to-back loan of Rs 1.59 lakh crore has already been released in lieu of shortfall in release of GST Compensation during the current financial year.
