GST Raid At Transport Company In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: GST officials carried out raid at the premises of a transport company at Manguli Chhak area in Odisha’s Cuttack on Friday over alleged tax irregulariteis.

The  enforcement team of the Commercial Tax (CT) and Goods and Service Tax (GST) conducted the raid at the private transport company since morning.

According to sources, the search operations are still continuing at the office and other premises of M/s Anand Cargo Pvt Ltd located at Manguli Chakk in Cuttack.

Around 20 officials and personnel of the CT and GST are taking part in the operation. The raid is being conducted over suspicion of non-filing of Goods and Service Tax on the stated annual turnover ratio.

The GST team is verifying several documents of the transport company. The process of scrutiny will continue for some time to ascerain whether there has been any irregulariteis. The aim is to detect tax evasion, if any, the sources added.
