New Delhi: Gurdas Mann won’t perform in Canada amid the diplomatic row between the two countries.
The production house cancelled the Canada trip as it’s the most ‘responsible and necessary’ course of action at this stage.
Mann was scheduled to perform in four Canadian cities – Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Winnipeg — between October 22 and October 31.
“In light of the current diplomatic unrest between the two countries and after careful consideration and assessment of the unpredictable circumstances, it has been determined that the cancellation of the event is the most responsible and necessary course of action for the time being,” the production house posted on Facebook announcing the cancellation of Mann’s tour.
Mann assured his fans all tickets will be refunded and new dates announced soon.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian agents had a role in the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil. India vehemently rejected the allegation and sought specific information to back the claim.
Both countries have expelled diplomats, and India suspended its visa services in Canada.
Last month, Canada-based Punjabi rapper Shubh aka Shubhneet Singh had his maiden India tour cancelled following outrage over his pro-Khalistani views.
Indo-Canadian rapper AP Dhillon then faced boycott calls after showing solidarity with Shubh and said musicians now have to “second and triple guess” every move.
