Bhubaneswar: The X account of international sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik was restored on Sunday, almost 40 hours after allegedly being hacked on Friday evening.
The matter came to light after he received an email at about 8 pm on Friday, notifying that a suspicious login has been noticed in his X account from Kolkata. He was then unable to open his account. He got another mail within a few minutes in which it was mentioned that his email ID and mobile number linked to his X account were changed.
Pattanik had immediately lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime police in Bhubaneswar and also raised the matter with the support team of X. “My X account has been hacked. I came to know that someone from Kolkata hacked my account. I have given a letter to Cyber Police Station and also requested to X authorities for necessary action,” he posted on Facebook.
The sand artist has more than 7.74 lakh followers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I am concerned that the hackers may misuse it and send unwarranted texts via the direct message facility,” he added.
