Bhubaneswar: A campaign, ‘Har Ghar Dastak’, to motivate people towards full COVID vaccination will begin in Odisha from November 2.
State Nodal Immunisation Officer Dr Bijay Panigrahi told the media on Monday that frontline workers – ASHAs, Anganwadi workers and ANMs – in coordination with members of Self-Help Groups, Panchayati Raj Institutions, or NGOs will visit every household to check if any beneficiary is due for the second dose of vaccine.
“The frontline workers will prepare a list of such beneficiaries and facilitate their vaccination at the nearest centre. The campaign will continue throughout the month to ensure that the beneficiaries inoculated with the first dose are fully vaccinated by November-end,” he said.
People, who are yet to take the first shot, will also be motivated to achieve the 100 per cent first-dose target by December-end, he added.
Notably, the Odisha government has revised its target for COVID-19 vaccination in the state to 3.25 crore people from the earlier 3.09 crore.
So far, 2.58 crore people have got their first dose while 1.16 crore people have received both doses. About 1.37 crore people are waiting for their second dose.
