Bhubaneswar: As soon as the Crime Branch arrested Patnagarh parcel gift blast alleged mastermind Punjilal Meher, director Sridhar Martha announced a film on this unusual real-life revenge story.
The film ‘Bullet Raja’ will be produced under the banner of Range Royal Cine Labs. “I have been following the incident and was shocked to know that it was an outcome of someone’s jealousy. The story is filmy with all kinds of masala. I want to give out a social message through my film without hurting anyone’s personal stature,” said the two-film-old director.
Well-known actor Hara Rath will play Punjilal and Manoj Mishra the Crime Branch officer, said Martha, adding that the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised.
Explaining the title of the film, he said, “I got to know that Punjilal loved to ride a Bullet and people in his neighbourhood addressed him as Bullet Raja. The film will be a complete entertainer.”
Martha believes in making films on original subjects. His first film ‘Katha Deli Matha Chhuin’ was released in 2017. His next ‘Yogi’, a high-voltage political drama featuring Hara Rath, Manoj Mishra, Bijay Mohanty and Nikita Mishra hit theatres recently.
