Bhubaneswar: A 40-member team, comprising former and current students of Harvard University, concluded its weeklong visit of KIIT and KISS Universities on Saturday.
Among the visiting Harvard alumni were politicians, policymakers, businessmen, educators, lawyers and development workers.
One of the main goals of their visit, under the Harvard India Trek initiative, was to explore the art, culture, heritage and social aspects of India, especially Odisha.
The past and current students of Harvard were overwhelmed by the art, culture and traditions of Odisha, demonstrating it by wearing Sambalpuri kurtas.
Describing KIIT and KISS as unique institutes in the world, the Harvard group appreciated the dedication of Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta.
They visited Dr Samanta’s residence on Friday, and learnt about his simple lifestyle.
They toured various departments of KIIT and different units of KISS, and spent a considerable amount of time engaging in discussions and exchanging thoughts with the students of KIIT and KISS.
Dr Samanta felicitated the members at a special event and presented them with certificates.
