New York: It was on December 21 that Elon Musk said that he will resign as CEO of Twitter as soon as he found someone “foolish enough to take the job.”
Almost two months later, the billionaire has an ‘update’.
Musk tweeted that Twitter’s “new CEO” has been found and he is “so much better than that other guy,” alongside pictures of his pet dog Floki.
One picture shows the dog seated on the CEO’s chair, wearing a Twitter-branded black T-shirt with ‘CEO’ written on it. Another picture shows a small laptop and some documents lying in front of the ‘CEO’.
Musk’s posts triggered hilarious reactions.
“I guess he was the only one crazy enough to take the job,” wrote one user.
“I like these frames better. Fitting for Valentines,” wrote another.
A third person responded: “Truly inspiring how Floki went from fetching balls to having interns fetch him coffee. I want to be like him when I grow pup!”
Coming back to reality, Musk said that towards the end of 2023 would be “good timing” to find someone else to run Twitter, after the social media platform becomes stable.
“I think I need to stabilise the organisation and just make sure it’s in a financially healthy place and that the product roadmap is clearly laid out,” Musk said, speaking virtually at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
Asked if he had identified a new Twitter CEO, the world’s second richest person said: “I don’t know, I’m guessing probably towards the end of this year would be good timing to find someone else to run the company, because I think it should be in a stable position around, you know, at the end of this year.”
In December, Musk had run a poll on Twitter on whether he should step down as Twitter CEO. Majority of the respondents said he should.
