Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Monday issued orange warning of thunderstorm along with lighting and strong winds for South and North Odisha.
In the next 24 hours, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Kandhamal and Khurda, the mid-day bulletin said.
It has also forecast hailstorm and heavy rainfall at one or two places in Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack and Kandhamal districts.
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are also likely to occur at one or two places in the remaining districts of Odisha till 8 am on April 28.
April 28 to April 29
Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places in South Odisha, North Coastal Odisha and at a few places in North Interior Odisha.
Orange warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and heavy rainfall are very likely to occur at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Koraput districts.
Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi districts.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadarak and Jajpur.
April 30 to May 1
Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadarak, Kendrapada, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam.
May 1 to May 2
