Bhubaneswar: Odisha may continue to experience heavy rain for two more days under the influence of a low-pressure area, which persists over south Bangladesh and neighbourhood, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.

“Initially, it is likely to move north-northwestwards during the next 24 hours and move west-northwestwards during subsequent 3-4 days across Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and adjoining Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Madhya Pradesh,” according to the midday bulletin.

The weather agency has forecast heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda districts on August 19 (Monday).

Bhubaneswar is likely to witness cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.

Heavy rain may continue at one or two places in Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Deogarh during the subsequent 24 hours.

While there is no warning for the next two days, heavy rain may resume at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on August 23. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at many places in North Odisha and at a few places in South Odisha during the subsequent two days.
