Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning for three districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, till 5.30 pm.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning and one or two intense spell of rain may affect some parts of Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh and Balangir districts within 3 hours.
The weather agency has also issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning for some parts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati and Rayagada during this period.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
There is also a forecast for heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Kendrapada, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh and Ganjam districts till 8.30 am on Wednesday.
