Heavy Rain To Lash Odisha Amid Hot & Humid Weather; Temp To Fall By 2-3°C

Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with thunderstorm and gusty wind is likely to lash several parts of Odisha over the next few days amid hot and humid conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.

Director of the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar Manorama Mohanty said heavy rain is likely to occur in some parts of the state including Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati districts by Sunday. The intensity of rainfall will increase after two days, she said.

Maximum temperature is likely to fall gradually by 2-3 degree Celsius after two days at many places over the state.

Rain and thundershower may occur at a few places over Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and at some parts of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts in the next 24 hours.

The weather agency sounded yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph at some places of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur during the period.

Heat wave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, and Nuapada in next 24 hours

Hot and humid weather condition may prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati during the period.

2) Hot & humid weather condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.

Heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada.

2) Hot & Humid weather condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal.
