Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued thunderstorm and heavy rain warning for 14 districts of Odisha.
The districts that are likely to experience heavy downpour are Khuda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Jajpur and Kendrapara between 2.15 pm and 6.15 pm.
According to a Met bulletin, the latest doppler weather radar and images indicate that moderate thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and heavy rainfall is likely to occur at these places.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea during the period.
