Bhubaneswar: DCP (Traffic) Sagarika Nath on Wednesday blamed a section of Bollywood for promoting unsafe driving on roads.
She tweeted about Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie ‘Sooryavanshi’ in which the actor is seen riding a motorcycle without a helmet.
Amid working hard to enforce the new Motor Vehicle Act 2019 in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the young IPS officer vented out her anger on social media and said that these stunts send a wrong message to fans, who tend to replicate them in real life.
“It’s high time Bollywood realises that they are sending the wrong message to the youth. You (Akshay Kumar) are amazing. Love many of your movies. Let’s reduce fatalities together,” she said.
To drive her point home, the DCP posted the picture alongside a still from Dhoom 3, where actor Amir Khan is seen doing bike stunts while wearing a helmet.
The trailer of ‘Sooryavanshi’ is trending on social media and has already crossed 48 million views.
