Hijab Controversy: Malala Running Radical Jihadi Agenda, Says BJP Leader

New Delhi: BJP members Kapil Mishra and Manjinder Singh Sirsa hit out at Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai for her comments on the ongoing hijab controversy in India. The activist had taken to Twitter on Tuesday to condemn the ongoing hijab row in India.

On girls’ complaint that college is forcing them to choose between studies and the hijab, Malala tweeted: “Refusing to let girls go to school in their hijabs is horrifying. Objectification of women persists — for wearing less or more. Indian leaders must stop the marginalisation of Muslim women.”

BJP leader Kapil Mishra took to Twitter to counter Malala’s comments. He said, “Muslim Girls getting killed in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan for not wearing Hijab. Hindu, Sikh girls getting killed in Pakistan for just being hindu. She has never uttered a single word on real issues.”

Meanwhile, Karnataka Energy Minister Sunil Kumar also stirred another controversy, saying if Congress comes to power, it will make a law asking Hindus to wear hijab.

“If Congress gets the people’s mandate they may introduce a law that would mandate even Hindus to wear hijab. Siddaramaiah and Congress should discard such a mentality.”
