Bhubaneswar: With more and more doctors and paramedics getting infected by COVID in the past few days, people in Odisha have been advised against hospital visits unless absolutely necessary.
Telemedicine services have been activated in view of the risk to non-COVID patients in accessing medical facilities in hospitals.
According to sources, the state has reported over 300 cases in healthcare facilities.
At least 136 employees, including 38 healthcare workers and doctors, at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and more than 30 staff, including 10 doctors, at Capital Hospital have tested positive for the virus. In Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, 25 staffers have been infected.

The state has been reporting over 10,000 cases for the last three days and is among the top-nine states/UTs that have been driving the country’s caseload.
Notably, Khurda had 20,010 of the total 61,809 active cases till Saturday morning. The district long with Sundargarh (8372), Cuttack (4662) and Sambalpur (4261) is in the Red Zone.

Till January 13, Khurda had the highest test positivity rate of 27.1 per cent followed by Sundargarh at 18.7 per cent and Sambalpur at 16.8 per cent.
