Bhubaneswar: After two days of relief from sweltering heat, the mercury soared to 32.4 degree Celsius in the Odisha capital by 8.30 am on Thursday with humidity level touching 68 per cent.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature is likely to shoot up in coastal areas with westerly and dry and hot north-westerly winds blowing over the state. “People are advised to take precautions while moving out of house and keep themselves hydrated,” it tweeted.
After an overnight spell of rain, Bhubaneswar had recorded 34.2 degree Celsius on Tuesday. The city logged 34.4 degree Celsius on Wednesday.

While issuing heatwave warning till June 18, the MeT office had earlier predicted that the day temperature would remain 4-6 degrees above normal in some districts of Odisha during next 5 days, while one or two places in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur and Balangir are expected to experience warmer nights.
