Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday sealed a hotel and restaurant near Puri bypass, on the outskirts of the Odisha capital, for gross violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
A special squad of BMC raided Hotel & Restaurant and found a large gathering of people for a birthday celebration.
“Over 60 persons had congregated at the restaurant,” said BMC Enforcement Inspector Prashant Kumar Panda.
Further investigation revealed that the hotel owner was serving liquor without a trade licence.
The BMC later sealed the restaurant and served a notice to the hotel owner.
