Hyderabad: The Juvenile Justice Board has granted bail to four minor accused in the Hyderabad gangrape case, which triggered outrage and violence in Telangana a month ago.
After they were granted bail, the four accused, including the son of a legislator, were released from a juvenile home where they had been detained since the first week of June, according to media reports.
A fifth minor accused will continue to remain in the juvenile home as he has approached the Telangana High Court for bail.
Another accused, the only adult in the case, is in jail.
The six allegedly gangraped a 17-year-old girl in a car in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills area on May 28. The minor accused are students of Class 11 and 12 and belong to “politically influential” families.
