Bhubaneswar: Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has bagged the prestigious SKOCH Silver Award 2023 in infrastructure category for the construction of Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela.
The Birsa Munda hockey stadium made history in January this year when it co-hosted the FIH Men’s World Cup tournament after being built in just 15 months.
Equipped with world-class infrastructure which came in for high praise from all participating nations, the Birsa Munda hockey stadium has a seating capacity of 20,011 people.
It has been recognised as the largest fully-seated hockey stadium in the world by Guinness World Records.
