Bhubaneswar: A first-year BBA student of the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) in Dumuduma has complained of ragging in the college hostel.
The student hailing from Howrah in West Bengal lodged a complaint in this regard at the Khandagiri police station on Wednesday alleging that he was ragged by five of his hostel inmates.
The victim has also stated in his complaint that he had been ragged on several occasions since August this year. Despite repeated complaints with the authorities, they have not initiated any action against the wrongdoers so far.
When the torture became unbearable, he decided to apprise the police officers regarding the matter.
Meanwhile, the cops have started investigation into the incident on the basis of a video footage showing a group of students torturing the victim.
