Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted intense rainfall spells together with thunderstorm and lightning in Odisha’s Cuttack and Bhubaneswar cities around noon on Sunday.
The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that thunderstorm and lighting with one or two spells of intense rainfall very likely over some parts of twin city areas of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar during the next two hours.
The MeT Centre advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
The IMD also issued a nowcast warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning in some parts of Ganjam, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keinjhar, Mayugbhanj and Jajpur districts within next three hours.
Yellow warning was also issued for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities during the period.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
