Bhubaneswar: The state government on Wednesday decided to organise the state-level Independence Day celebration at the Exhibition Ground, Unit III here in a restricted manner keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in view.
At a high-level meeting chaired by chief secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy, it was decided that the police band will play the National Anthem and a troupe of three police forces will salute the National Flag and the Chief Guest.
A limited number of people, including the COVID Warriors, will be invited to participate in the state-level function.
All the protocols of COVID-19 including wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing will be followed during the celebration, official sources said.
