New Delhi: In view of the increasing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, India evacuated its embassy in Kabul in a special Air Force flight on Tuesday morning.
“In view of the prevailing circumstances, it has been decided that our Ambassador in Kabul and his Indian staff will move to India immediately (sic),” Ministry Of External Affairs spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi said via a tweet.
Bagchi also shared the helpline number — 919717785379 — as well as the email address to help in coordinating the repatriation.
Afghanistan is passing through its worst political crisis in two decades as Taliban returned to power on Sunday evening following the withdrawal of US troops. Shocking visuals showed the terrorists inside the Presidential Palace after President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.
